Perry is a co-founder and President of The Pharmacy Group in Glastonbury, Connecticut. This company provides marketing services to healthcare service, information technology and pharmaceutical companies to grow revenue and improve the financial performance of their products and services.

He has over 30 years experience in healthcare, designing and managing pharmacy benefit management programs for payers. Additionally, Perry practiced in community, hospital and long term care pharmacy in California and oversaw the operations for 50 community pharmacies in nine states.

Perry is a co-founder, past president and fellow of the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy, a member of the Drug Topics Editorial Advisory Board, Managed Healthcare Executive Editorial Board of Advisors, member of the Dean's Leadership Council, University of the Pacific School of Pharmacy and the University of Arizona College of Pharmacy National Advisory Board. He has lectured and written extensively on the role of pharmacy benefit management in healthcare.

Perry holds Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy and Doctor of Pharmacy degrees from the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California. He completed an administrative clerkship at the Food and Drug Administration in Rockville, Maryland. His clinical training was performed at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii. He is licensed in California and Nevada.

Michael J. Sax, PharmD

Dr. Sax is co-founder and Executive Vice President of The Pharmacy Group in Glastonbury, Connecticut where he is responsible for the clinical consulting practice of this company that provides marketing services to healthcare service, information technology and pharmaceutical companies to grow revenue and improve the financial performance of their products and services.

Michael's pharmacy experience in community, hospital, and managed care spans 30 years. It includes expertise in planning, developing, and managing clinical pharmacy programs, developing innovative and effective programs and systems to maintain rational pharmacy utilization, optimizing drug therapy, and promoting rational prescribing and management of prescription costs.

Widely published in medical and pharmaceutical journals, Michael's work has appeared in Chest, Drug Information Journal, Drug Benefit Trends and Hospital Pharmacy, among other journals. He is affiliated with a number of organizations, including the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy and the American Society of Health System Pharmacy.

Dr. Sax received a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Southern California School of Pharmacy, and completed a postgraduate residency in ambulatory care at the Veterans Administration and the University of Southern California.

Mary-Jean Darby

 

Mary-Jean (MJ) Darby, RN
Vice President

Mary-Jean Darby (MJ) is a Vice President with The Pharmacy Group in Glastonbury, Connecticut. She is responsible for developing and maintaining key client relationships to grow our client's revenue and improve the financial performance of their products and services.

MJ is a registered nurse with an extensive background in managed health care and managed pharmacy. She has over 20 years of experience specializing in product development, product management, operational deployment and account management.

Prior to joining The Pharmacy Group, MJ was the Vice President of Product Management for Prematics, an electronic medication management service. There she served in a variety of executive level capacities including key sales and account management.

MJ served as the Vice President of Clinical Operations at Express Scripts, Inc. for 8 years. She developed and implemented the first Disease and Demand Management programs. She managed a 120-member team of registered nurses, pharmacists, call center associates and analysts that managed 25 unique clinical programs generating over 10 million patient and physician clinical contacts per year.

MJ also worked at United Health Care, St. Louis Missouri. She was the Director of the Medical Management divisions that were dedicated to conducting pre-certification, concurrent utilization management, catastrophic case management, and disease management.

MJ provided bedside patient care as a registered nurse at a hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.

MJ received her nursing degree at Maryville University in St. Louis, Missouri and is licensed and registered in the states of New York and Missouri.

 

Jane Mastromarino

Jane Mastromarino is a Vice President with The Pharmacy Group (TPG) which provides consulting services to associations, healthcare services, information technology, payors, and pharmaceutical companies to grow revenue and improve the financial performance of their products and services. She is responsible for all marketing activities of the TPG Family of products and services. She has over 10 years of accomplishments with TPG.

Before joining The Pharmacy Group, Mastromarino spent six years working for a privately held digital printing/marketing firm in Glastonbury, CT.  Her responsibilities included account management, office management, purchasing, and hiring and training administrative and account management staff.

Previously, Mastromarino spent eight years working in her family’s business, a retail and commercial office supply store located in Hartford, CT. She began her professional career as Executive Assistant to a Director of a large insurance company in Hartford, CT.

Mastromarino received her Associates degree from Bay Path Junior College in Longmeadow, Massachusetts.

Michelle A Page, PharmD, CGP, FASCP
Vice President

Michelle is a Vice President with The Pharmacy Group in Glastonbury, Connecticut. She is responsible for developing and maintaining key client relationships to grow our client's revenue and improve the financial performance of their products and services.

Over the past 20 years, Michelle has gained experience as a pharmacist with long term care, managed care and pharmaceutical companies.

Her extensive experience stems from performing monthly drug regimen reviews, utilization reviews, clinical monitoring and formulary management for residents of nursing homes and assisted living, as well as providing drug information and quarterly in-services to nursing staff as a long term care consultant pharmacist. She has also provided consulting services of medication management to long term care facilities and community dwelling seniors to identify, resolve and help prevent medication related problems.

Michelle received her Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy degree from The University of Connecticut, and received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Creighton University. She is currently affiliated with the American Pharmacists Association, is on the Board of Directors for the University of Connecticut, School of Pharmacy Alumni Association, and has been the former President of the Connecticut Pharmacists Association.

 

Steve Shearer

Steve Shearer is a Vice President with The Pharmacy Group (TPG), which provides consulting services to associations, healthcare services, information technology, payors, and pharmaceutical companies to grow revenue and improve the financial performance of their products and services. Shearer is responsible for business development activities for all of the TPG Family products and services.

With over 30 years experience in healthcare, Shearer is a seasoned professional with a strong background in managed care operations, Medicare Part D-plans, Medicaid, and clinical practice.

Shearer spent 13 years with one of the industry’s leading pharmaceutical companies as a Senior National Account Executive working with health plans and other payors. He also has significant experience managing pharmacy benefit programs and other operational aspects for payors. His career includes positions as Director of Pharmacy, Director of Managed Care, and Manager Network Management. Shearer most recently was a Partner in a consultancy providing healthcare services to employers and pharmacies.

Shearer holds a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from West Virginia University and Master of Science in Pharmacy Practice from the University of North Carolina. He completed his pharmaceutical residency at North Carolina Memorial Hospital, Chapel Hill, NC.  Shearer is licensed in Georgia and is a member of the Georgia Society of Hospitals and Health System Pharmacists and the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy.


Danette

 

Danette C. Stephens, RPh

Danette is a Vice President with The Pharmacy Group in Glastonbury, Connecticut. She is responsible for developing and maintaining key client relationships to grow our client's revenue and improve the financial performance of their products and services.

Danette's pharmacy experience includes a progressive knowledge in health care with executive level responsibilities, including developing, directing and executing effective sales strategies to meet organizational revenue growth objectives within multi-state territories, as well as developing and maintaining professional and positive customer relationships for an organization which provides Ancillary Benefit Management solutions to payers targeted at improving patient care, reducing drug costs and managing the provider network.

Throughout her career, Danette has managed day-to-day pharmacy, clinical and administrative operations and sales activities and strategies for different managed care companies.

Danette holds a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from the University of Montana, and a Masters in Healthcare Organizational Systems from the University of Denver.

Julie Stone

Julie Stone is a Vice President with The Pharmacy Group (TPG), which provides consulting services to associations, healthcare services, information technology, payors, and pharmaceutical companies to grow revenue and improve the financial performance of their products and services. She is responsible for the marketing communications activities of the TPG Family of products and services.

Stone has over 25 years experience in marketing, communications, public relations and event management. She has developed and managed marketing strategy, communication materials, and events for a wide range of companies, and has extensive international experience.  Stone has been a marketing and public relations consultant since 1997. Prior to starting her consulting business, Stone was the Manager of Marketing Communications and Public Relations for a leading business aircraft manufacturer and also served as Associate Publisher for an aviation trade publication.

Additionally, Stone was a member of the Olympic Village Management team for the 1996 Atlanta Committee for the Olympic Games with specific responsibility for facilitating the 78 different National Olympic Committees’ (NOCs) participation in the Yachting Venue.

Stone has a Master of International Management/Business Administration from the Thunderbird Graduate School of International Management (Glendale, AZ) and a Bachelor of Arts from Northwestern University (Evanston, IL).
